Direct exposure with a magnifying glas
on b/w photographic paper, unique works, 13 x 8,9 cm each
Inspired by the power of the sun, Djourina attempts an experiment. While using several different photo papers, the artist "exposes“ them directly under a magnifying glass in the sunlight.
During the experiment, the pace of the work changes from very slow to very fast depending on the weather situation: the stronger the sunlight the quicker everything has to happen. Fingerprints, the trembling of the hand while holding the magnifying glas, the wind - all of these factors play a role and leave marks behind. The matter of the photo paper is burned in some of the cases to such an extend that it even leads to sculptural formations on the surface.
